Preparation

The treatment is performed outside the menstrual period, ideally on days 5–12 of the menstrual cycle (counted from the first day of menstruation). If you are in menopause, the procedure can be done on any day determined by the doctor. You don't need to be starving. A light meal before the visit and adequate hydration (plain water) are recommended. On the day of the procedure, perform a normal external intimate toilet (with water and mild soap). Do not use ovules, vaginal creams, intimate gels or irrigations 24 hours before. The area must be clean and dry before treatment. Do not perform the procedure if you have: active vaginal infections (candidiasis, bacterial vaginitis, genital herpes, etc.); local injuries, abnormal bleeding or recent wounds; fever or acute inflammatory conditions. Tell your doctor if you are taking antibiotics or hormonal treatment.
