Preparation:
It is not necessary to fast, as the procedure is performed with local anesthesia (cream or injection). A light meal before the visit and adequate hydration are recommended. On the day of the procedure, perform a normal general toilet (shower). The area to be treated must be clean and dry. Do not apply creams, lotions, make-up, deodorants or powders to the area. If the formation is on the face, avoid makeup and creams on the day of the procedure. It is not necessary to stop your current treatments unless your doctor advises otherwise. Tell your doctor if you are taking anticoagulants (eg Aspirin, Thrombostop, Warfarin) or anti-inflammatories — these may increase the risk of minor bleeding. Notify if you have allergies to local anesthetics. Do not perform the procedure if you have a fever, active skin infection or irritated lesions in the affected area. In the case of molluscum contagiosum, tell the doctor if there are any other new lesions that have recently appeared on the skin. Bring, if you have, the results of dermatological tests or the doctor's recommendation. For patients with chronic conditions (diabetes, coagulation disorders), inform the doctor before the procedure.
