Food allergy screening

Food allergy screening is a laboratory test aimed at detecting increased sensitivity of the body to food products. It helps identify allergic reactions and serves as the first step in diagnosis. The package also includes tests to assess digestive system function (stool analysis/coprogram), as digestive disorders and hidden food intolerances can amplify allergic reactions and affect the immune system. This allows the doctor to perform a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s condition and provide personalized recommendations.

Indications

• frequent skin reactions (rash, itching, hives)
• bloating, abdominal pain, or stool disorders after eating
• chronic fatigue or weakness without a clear cause
• suspected food allergy or intolerance
• family history of allergies

Procedure / Duration
The test includes several analyses: venous blood sampling for complete blood count, total IgE, and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), as well as sampling for stool analysis (coprogram). Laboratory testing of the Foodscreen (12) panel is performed to identify potential allergies to major food groups:

• Cereals
• Legumes
• Dairy products
• Meat products
• Fruits and vegetables

The overall procedure takes 5–10 minutes, and results are usually ready within a few days.

Contraindications
There are no absolute contraindications. Relative: acute infectious diseases, severe general condition (at the doctor’s discretion).

Rehabilitation / Restrictions
Not required. After the tests, the patient can immediately return to normal activities.
