Preparation

Before the procedure it is necessary: ​​Consultation of the urologist or surgeon; Pre-anesthetic consultation (if performed under general anesthesia); Usual preoperative analyses: hemogram, coagulogram, blood sugar, urea, creatinine; brief urine; ECG (in adults or as directed by the doctor). Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking. If you are taking anticoagulants or antiplatelets (Aspirin, Plavix, Xarelto, Eliquis, etc.), they may need to be stopped 5-7 days before — only on doctor's advice. Other chronic treatments are continued, according to the indications of the anesthesiologist. On the day of the intervention, come without eating: no solid food 8 hours before; no liquids (including water) 4 hours before. Do not consume chewing gum, coffee or tea on the morning of surgery. Shower the night before or in the morning with antibacterial soap. Wash the genital area carefully. Do not apply topical creams, oils or ointments on the day of the procedure. If the doctor recommends, the pubic area can be shaved before the procedure.
