Not all prostate cancers require immediate treatment
📋 Some forms are so slow-growing that the correct strategy is active surveillance, not surgery or radiotherapy. The key is a proper biopsy, which shows not only whether cancer is present but also the type, grade, and the therapeutic strategy to follow.
🥼 Prostate cancer is not diagnosed from blood tests or symptoms. Diagnosis is made via percutaneous prostate biopsy. Why is this important? ↓ Because elevated PSA does not automatically mean cancer, and normal PSA does not completely rule it out.
🩸 PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) is a blood test that measures the level of a protein produced by the prostate gland. This protein is present in small amounts in healthy men, but levels can rise in various prostate conditions.
Consult a urologist at Invitro Diagnostics if your PSA or prostate symptoms raise concerns.
