🔎 A hysteroscope is a thin optical instrument, rigid or flexible, equipped with a video camera and a working channel that allows direct visualization of the uterine cavity and the insertion of instruments needed for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Hysteroscopy can be performed under local, regional, or general anesthesia, depending on the duration of the procedure, the extent of the intervention, and the patient’s individual characteristics.
💉 Surgical hysteroscopy is often preferred over other surgical methods due to faster recovery and lower risk of postoperative complications.
