Preparation:
Bring with you: previous medical documents (analyses, imaging investigations – ultrasound, radiography, MRI, CT, etc. ); medical letters, discharge sheets, prescriptions and list of currently administered medications. If it is a follow-up consultation, bring the results of recent tests. In general, you do not need to fast, unless your doctor or laboratory tells you otherwise. Avoid alcohol, excessive coffee and smoking before the visit, as they can change some physiological values (blood pressure, pulse). Do not stop current treatments without your doctor's advice. Make a note of any medications, supplements, or natural treatments you use to share with your doctor. Wear comfortable clothing that can be easily removed if physical examination is required. Avoid bulky jewelry and excessive makeup, especially if you are having a full clinical exam. Rest well before the consultation. Prepare a list of the main symptoms, the time of their appearance and possible factors that aggravate or relieve them. If you have any questions about your health, write them down ahead of time to discuss them with your doctor.
