Preparation:
It is recommended that breast examination be performed on days 5–12 of the menstrual cycle (calculated from the first day of menstruation), when the breasts are less tender and free of congestion. If you are in menopause, the consultation can be done any day. You don't need to be starving. Continue your usual treatments unless your doctor has advised you otherwise. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that can be easily removed at the top. Avoid applying deodorants, powders, lotions or creams on the chest and axillary region on the day of the consultation, as they may interfere with the ultrasound or mammography examination. Bring your ultrasounds, mammograms, MRIs, previous tests or medical letters related to breast conditions with you. If you have previous results, it is important to present them for comparison of evolution. Note the changes you notice (pain, nipple discharge, lumps, redness, skin retraction, etc. ) and when they appear. Mention any family history of breast or ovarian cancer.
