Preparation:
Clean your nose and mouth as usual, but do not use nasal sprays, nose drops, ear drops, or topical antiseptics at least 12–24 h before, if possible (they can change the appearance of the mucosa). Avoid using ear sticks on the day of the consultation. Write down all the treatments you are taking (topical and systemic). If you are under antibiotic or anti-inflammatory treatment, inform the doctor (for the correct interpretation of the clinical picture). Take with you the results of tests, investigations (x-rays, CT, MRI, audiograms, bacteriological cultures), if any. Make a list of the symptoms that are bothering you (pain, discharge, bleeding, tinnitus, hearing loss, nasal breathing difficulties, hoarseness, sore throat, etc. ), specifying the duration and triggers. Wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy examination of the neck and ears.
