Genital warts (condyloma acuminata) and papillomas most often develop in the genital area as a result of infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV) — a sexually transmitted disease.
Preparation:
Inform your doctor about all chronic conditions, allergies and drug treatments you are taking. Carry out the recommended investigations (tests for sexually transmitted infections, Pap test, if applicable). Avoid sexual contact 48 hours before the procedure. Do not apply topical creams, ointments, or solutions to the area unless prescribed by your doctor. If you have active genital infections (candidiasis, vaginosis, herpes), they should be treated first.
