IMPORTANT!
It is crucial to remember that the information provided in this section is not intended for self-diagnosis or self-treatment. If you experience pain or a worsening of a condition, it is essential to consult a doctor for diagnostic testing. Only a qualified professional can make an accurate diagnosis and determine appropriate treatment. To obtain the most accurate and consistent evaluation of test results, it is recommended to have them performed at the same laboratory. This is because different laboratories may use different methods and units of measurement for similar tests.

Preparation:
No special fasting is necessary, you can eat and drink normally, unless the doctor has specified otherwise. It is recommended to be well hydrated (drink enough water before administration). Continue your usual treatment, unless your doctor has directed you otherwise. If you are taking anticoagulant treatment (eg Aspirin, Plavix, Xarelto, Eliquis, Warfarin), inform the medical staff before the procedure. The port area must be clean and dry. Do not apply creams, oils, or lotions to the skin in the catheter area before the procedure. If you notice redness, pain, swelling, discharge, or fever, notify your doctor immediately—the procedure may be delayed until evaluation. Choose comfortable clothes that allow easy access to the chest area (usually the upper right or left side). Sterile technique is followed — the port area will be disinfected and the special needle (Huber) inserted into the port chamber. After administration, the port is washed with saline and heparin, according to the protocol.
