Procedure
A blood sample is collected from a vein using standard venipuncture. The procedure takes only a few minutes and is well tolerated by most patients.
The sample is analyzed according to the tests included in the profile.
Preparation:
- fast for 8–12 hours before blood collection (water is allowed)
- drink plain water as usual
- avoid alcohol for 24 hours before testing
- avoid strenuous physical activity on the day before testing
- if possible, have the blood sample collected before taking morning medications (only after consulting your physician)
- morning blood collection is recommended
