Radiocauterization of skin lesions – periocular area – is a minimally invasive procedure used for the removal of skin lesions located around the eyes using radiofrequency energy.

Due to the high precision of the method, the procedure allows controlled removal of skin lesions with minimal impact on surrounding healthy tissues. Radiofrequency energy provides simultaneous tissue coagulation, helps reduce the risk of bleeding, and allows for a favorable aesthetic outcome.

Indications

  • benign skin lesions located in the periocular area;
  • lesions causing local discomfort or irritation;
  • lesions frequently traumatized by touching or friction;
  • removal of lesions for aesthetic reasons;
  • recommendation of a dermatologist after evaluation of the lesion.

Procedure / Duration

The procedure is performed by a dermatologist on an outpatient basis.

After evaluation of the lesion and preparation of the treatment area, the physician uses a special radiofrequency electrode for precise and controlled removal of the lesion.

Depending on the size and number of lesions, the procedure takes approximately 10–20 minutes.

Contraindications

The procedure is not recommended in the following situations:

  • suspicion of a malignant lesion without prior dermatological evaluation;
  • active infections or inflammatory conditions in the treatment area;
  • severe blood clotting disorders;
  • medical conditions that contraindicate minimally invasive dermatological procedures.

Recovery / Restrictions

The healing period usually takes approximately 7–14 days, depending on the size and location of the lesion.

Patients are advised to avoid traumatizing the treated area, maintain local hygiene, and protect the skin from direct sun exposure until complete healing.

Benefits

  • precise and controlled procedure;
  • suitable for delicate periocular areas;
  • minimal impact on surrounding healthy tissues;
  • simultaneous tissue coagulation and reduced risk of bleeding;
  • rapid recovery;
  • favorable aesthetic result.

Preparation:

No special preparation is required.

A dermatological consultation is recommended before the procedure to evaluate the lesion, determine the indication, and choose the most appropriate treatment method.
