Radiocauterization of skin lesions – scalp area – is a minimally invasive procedure used for the removal of skin lesions located on the scalp using radiofrequency energy.

The method allows precise and controlled removal of skin lesions with minimal impact on surrounding healthy tissues. Radiofrequency energy provides simultaneous tissue coagulation, helps reduce the risk of bleeding, and allows for a favorable aesthetic outcome.

Indications

  • benign skin lesions located on the scalp;
  • lesions that increase in size or change in appearance;
  • lesions frequently traumatized during combing or due to friction;
  • local discomfort caused by the presence of the lesion;
  • removal of lesions for aesthetic reasons;
  • recommendation of a dermatologist after evaluation of the lesion.

Procedure / Duration

The procedure is performed by a dermatologist on an outpatient basis.

After evaluation of the lesion and preparation of the treatment area, the physician uses a special radiofrequency electrode for precise and controlled removal of the lesion with simultaneous tissue coagulation.

Depending on the size and number of lesions, the procedure takes approximately 10–30 minutes.

Contraindications

The procedure is not recommended in the following situations:

  • suspicion of a malignant lesion without prior dermatological evaluation;
  • active infections or inflammatory conditions of the scalp;
  • severe blood clotting disorders;
  • medical conditions that contraindicate minimally invasive dermatological procedures.

Recovery / Restrictions

The healing period usually takes approximately 7–14 days, depending on the size and location of the lesion.

Patients are advised to maintain scalp hygiene, avoid traumatizing the formed crust, and protect the treated area until complete healing.

Benefits

  • precise and controlled removal of skin lesions;
  • suitable for a difficult-to-treat area such as the scalp;
  • minimal impact on surrounding healthy tissues;
  • simultaneous tissue coagulation and reduced risk of bleeding;
  • quick and safe procedure;
  • short recovery period.

Preparation:

No special preparation is required.

A dermatological consultation is recommended before the procedure to evaluate the lesion, confirm the indication, and select the most appropriate treatment method.
