Preparation:
If the procedure is performed with local anesthesia, it is not necessary to fast. If there is a possibility of general anesthesia or sedation, do not consume food or liquids for 6–8 hours before the procedure. In an emergency, the doctor will decide the right approach, even if you have not been prepared beforehand. Tell your doctor about all medications and supplements you take. Do not stop current treatments without your doctor's approval. If you use anticoagulants (Aspirin, Thrombostop, Warfarin), notify the medical staff before the procedure. Get enough rest before the procedure. Tell your doctor if you have had allergies to anesthetics, cardiac, respiratory or neurological diseases. You may need a companion, especially if you are sedated.
