Fasting for at least 8–12 hours before testing is recommended. No food, coffee, tea, juices or alcohol is consumed during this interval. Only a small amount of plain water is allowed. Analyzes are done in the morning, between 7:00 and 10:00. Avoid smoking before testing. Avoid intense physical exertion and stress on the morning of testing.
