The ProSport Package is designed for active individuals and athletes who want to monitor their health, physical performance, and recovery after intense exercise. This set of 16 tests provides information on blood parameters, energy metabolism, kidney and liver function, bone and muscle health, and hormonal balance essential for physical performance.
Package Components
| Parameter | Description | Clinical Role |
|---|---|---|
| Complete Blood Count (CBC) (without ESR) | Analysis of blood cells: hemoglobin, hematocrit, leukocytes, platelets | Assessment of general health, oxygenation, and detection of anemia or infections |
| Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) | Measures the rate at which red blood cells settle in a blood sample | Nonspecific indicator of inflammation or overexertion |
| Glucose | The body’s primary energy source | Monitoring carbohydrate metabolism; prevention of hypoglycemia and diabetes |
| Urea | End product of protein metabolism, excreted by the kidneys | Assessment of kidney function and protein balance in athletes |
| Creatinine | Muscle metabolism byproduct, excreted by the kidneys | Indicator of kidney function and high-intensity muscle metabolism |
| Total Proteins | Albumin + plasma globulins | Nutritional status and the body’s capacity for muscle regeneration |
| Folic Acid | Vitamin essential for red blood cell synthesis | Supports energy production and tissue oxygenation during exercise |
| Iron (Fe) | Essential mineral in hemoglobin | Detection of iron deficiency, common in endurance athletes |
| Ionized Calcium (iCa⁺⁺) | Active form of calcium in blood | Supports muscle contraction, bone health, and prevention of cramps |
| Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) | Enzyme produced by liver and bones | Assessment of bone health and liver metabolism |
| Total Bilirubin | Pigment resulting from hemoglobin breakdown | Indicator of liver function and adaptation to intense exercise |
| Total Cholesterol | Sum of lipid fractions (LDL, HDL, VLDL) | Cardiovascular risk assessment, important for performance athletes |
| Creatine Kinase MB (CK-MB) | Enzyme released during muscle activity or cardiac injury | Monitors muscle adaptation and detects myocardial damage |
| TSH (Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone) | Pituitary hormone regulating thyroid function | Determines energy metabolism and exercise capacity |
| Total Testosterone | Primary male anabolic hormone | Influences muscle mass, strength, and recovery |
| Total Estradiol | Main estrogen; present in small amounts in men | Hormonal balance, bone, and metabolic health |
Role of the ProSport Package
- Monitoring overall health in active individuals
- Early detection of anemia, protein imbalances, or inflammation
- Assessment of kidney and liver function after intense exercise
- Analysis of essential minerals (iron, calcium) for performance
- Checking hormonal balance to support muscle mass and metabolism
- Prevention of complications from overexertion, poor nutrition, or intense training
Indications
- Professional and amateur athletes engaged in regular training
- Individuals following intense fitness or bodybuilding programs
- Medical evaluation before starting a new exercise regimen
- Health monitoring during weight-loss or demanding training programs
- Recovery assessment after injuries or periods of overexertion
Preparation for Sample Collection
- Fasting: 8–12 hours before collection (water allowed)
- Avoid: Alcohol and intense physical activity 24 hours prior
- Inform your doctor: About supplements or treatments (creatine, steroids, hormones) that may affect results
- Hydration: Drink water on the day of collection
- Clothing: Wear comfortable clothes for easy access to the arm
Collection Procedure
Blood samples are collected via venipuncture, usually from the elbow crease. The procedure is quick, minimally invasive, and performed by qualified medical staff, taking only a few minutes. Minor reactions, such as slight pain or a small local bruise, may occur and typically resolve on their own.
The ProSport Package is specifically created for active individuals and athletes aiming to optimize performance and prevent complications related to intense physical effort. It provides a comprehensive view of general health, metabolism, and hormonal balance.
