Preparation:
Bring with you: previous investigations: MRI, CT, EEG, EMG, blood tests; medical records, discharge letters, treatment recommendations; the full list of medications you are currently taking. If it is a follow-up consultation, also bring the results of the tests performed after the previous visit. In general, it is not necessary to starve. If you are scheduled for an additional investigation (EEG, EMG), ask in advance if special conditions are needed (for example, avoiding coffee or certain medications). Avoid alcohol, excessive coffee and smoking on the day of the consultation – these can influence neurological reactions. Do not stop current treatments without your doctor's approval. Tell your neurologist about all medications, dietary supplements, and herbal treatments you are taking. If you have been prescribed a previous treatment for migraine, sleep or seizures, bring the boxes or prescriptions with you. Get a good night's rest the night before the consultation – fatigue can influence the results of the neurological exam. Wear comfortable clothing that allows reflexes and mobility to be checked. If you have walking or balance problems, it's helpful to come with someone. Write down the main symptoms ahead of time: when they appeared, how long they last, what aggravates or relieves them; if they are associated with other manifestations (visual disturbances, nausea, numbness, etc. ). This information helps the doctor make a more accurate diagnosis.
