Back massage
Back Massage – The Most Common and Effective Procedure for Prevention and Treatment. Back massage is one of the most common and effective procedures used to prevent and treat various conditions such as scoliosis, osteochondrosis, radicular pain, bronchial asthma, bronchitis, and intestinal dysmotility. A sedentary lifestyle, prolonged driving, and carrying heavy shopping bags are all factors that negatively affect the musculoskeletal system, often resulting in back pain and related problems.
Typically, doctors recommend a comprehensive treatment plan, and massage is an essential part of it. Massage is indicated not only for therapeutic purposes but also as a relaxation ritual.
At Invitro Diagnostics, two types of back massage are performed: therapeutic and relaxation massage.
- Therapeutic Massage (also known as classic or medical massage) is recommended for: Scoliosis; Osteochondrosis; Herniated discs; Post-traumatic conditions; Chronic back pain.
- Relaxation Massage helps relieve fatigue, combat depression and bad mood, and can be effective in preventing back pain caused by stress or poor posture.
Classic Back Massage Includes 5 Key Stages:
- Effleurage (Gliding movements) – gentle strokes that prepare the skin and relax the muscles for the next stages.
- Friction – performed with the palms; this technique activates local blood circulation in the soft tissues.
- Petrissage (Kneading) – works deeply into the muscles and ligaments, improving their flexibility and mobility.
- Tapotement (Percussion movements) – light rhythmic tapping performed with the hands; stimulates circulation and increases muscle tone.
- Vibrations – help improve blood flow, reduce pain, relax muscles, and enhance metabolic processes.
