Full medical check-up (children)
The Comprehensive Medical Check-up for Children is an extended preventive diagnostic profile designed to assess the child’s overall health, monitor the function of internal organs, and identify potential disorders at early stages. The check-up combines laboratory testing, ultrasound diagnostics, and medical consultation, providing a comprehensive evaluation of metabolism, digestive system function, kidney health, immune status, and the child’s overall development.
The profile helps detect hidden inflammatory processes, metabolic disorders, deficiency conditions, allergic predisposition, and parasitic infections at an early stage.
Components
Laboratory investigations
- General clinical investigations: complete blood count without ESR, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), biochemical urinalysis with sediment examination, stool examination for helminth eggs.
- Biochemical and metabolic profile: glucose, creatinine, urea, total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, total serum calcium, iron (Fe), pancreatic alpha-amylase.
- Immunological profile: total immunoglobulin E (total IgE).
Ultrasound diagnostics
Comprehensive ultrasound examination for children: abdominal organs and kidneys.
Specialist consultation
Medical consultation according to the Check-up package.
Indications
- as an annual preventive health assessment for children
- before starting school, sports activities, or camps
- in cases of frequent colds
- in cases of decreased appetite, fatigue, or weakness
- when deficiency conditions are suspected
- in allergic manifestations
- in cases of abdominal pain or digestive disorders
- when parasitic infections are suspected
- for monitoring overall health during periods of active growth
Procedure
The examination is performed on an outpatient basis and includes venous blood collection, urine and stool testing, ultrasound examination, and medical consultation. After completion of the investigations, parents receive the test results along with medical recommendations if necessary.
The duration of the examination depends on the number of procedures included and usually takes several hours.
Contraindications
Most investigations included in the package are safe and well tolerated by children. However, some procedures may have temporary limitations:
- blood tests may be postponed in cases of severe acute infections
- the quality of abdominal ultrasound may be affected if preparation instructions are not followed
- the examination may be more difficult if the child is significantly anxious or restless
Limitations
Test results may be influenced by diet, physical activity, emotional condition, medications, and compliance with preparation instructions.
Some indicators require additional medical interpretation based on the child’s age and developmental characteristics.
