Preparation:
It is recommended that the visit take place 3–5 days after the end of menstruation. Avoid appointments during menstruation, except in emergencies. Perform a regular external toilet (with soap and water) before the consultation. Do not use ovules, creams, topical disinfectants, or vaginal irrigations 48 hours before your visit, as they may alter the results of the exam. On the day of the consultation, do not use intimate perfumes, powders or scented wipes. It is recommended to refrain from sexual contact 24–48 hours before the consultation, especially if the Babeș-Pap test or other vaginal tests are to be collected. For consultations that include transabdominal pelvic ultrasound, it is recommended that you: drink 3–4 glasses of water 30–40 minutes before, do not urinate until the ultrasound is performed (the bladder should be moderately full). For transvaginal ultrasound, the bladder must be empty. Please bring the results of previous gynecological tests and investigations (Pap tests, ultrasounds, hormone tests, medical records). If you are undergoing gynecological treatment, bring the medicines or a list of their names. Write down the symptoms that bother you (pain, discharge, irregular cycles, discomfort during intercourse, etc. ) and their duration. Prepare the questions you want to ask the doctor.
