Preparation:
Please bring all urine tests, ultrasounds, imaging investigations, blood tests (especially PSA, creatinine, urea) and any previous discharge notes or consultations. If you are undergoing treatment, prepare a list of the medicines you are taking or bring their boxes. For a simple consultation, it is not necessary to come empty-handed. If you know that a urological ultrasound is coming, it is recommended that you: consume 3–4 glasses of water 30–40 minutes before the consultation, do not urinate until the examination is performed (the bladder must be moderately full). Please perform a rigorous toilet of the intimate area before presenting to the doctor. In men, careful cleaning under the foreskin (if possible) is important. In women, the usual external local hygiene is recommended, without the use of disinfectants or vaginal irrigations on the day of the consultation. Write down the symptoms you have (pain, stinging, changes in urine flow, incontinence, blood in the urine, etc. ) and how long they last.
