A follow-up consultation with an epileptologist is a control visit for patients with previously diagnosed epilepsy or other paroxysmal disorders. The aim is to monitor disease progression and treatment effectiveness.
Indications
- follow-up of diagnosed epilepsy
- evaluation of antiepileptic treatment effectiveness
- adjustment of therapy
- new seizures or change in seizure pattern
- review of EEG/MRI or other test results
- routine follow-up in chronic disease
- post-treatment adjustment assessment
Procedure
- evaluation of clinical evolution
- analysis of seizure frequency and type
- neurological examination
- review of new investigations
- assessment of treatment response
- therapy adjustment if needed
- additional investigations if required
- follow-up planning
Preparation:
- medical documents from previous visits
- seizure diary
- list of medications and responses
- video recordings of seizures if available
- new investigation results
