Hormonal assessment for women
This package includes a comprehensive assessment of hormones regulating the reproductive system, thyroid function, and adrenal glands. The test allows evaluation of hormonal balance in women, identification of menstrual cycle disorders, infertility, and hormonal imbalances.
The package includes the following parameters:
- Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) - reflects thyroid function
- Prolactin (PRL) - controls lactation and affects ovulation
- Free testosterone (calculated) - indicates the level of active androgen in women
- Total estradiol (E2, 17β-estradiol) - main female sex hormone
- Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) - regulates follicle growth and ovulation
- Luteinizing hormone (LH) - involved in ovulation and corpus luteum formation
- Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) - adrenal hormone, precursor of sex steroids
Indications:
- Menstrual cycle disorders
- Fertility issues and pregnancy planning
- Symptoms of hormonal imbalance (acne, excessive hair growth, reduced libido)
- Suspected polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
- Hormone therapy monitoring
Procedure:
- Blood is drawn from a vein at the laboratory
- Optimal time for sampling most hormones - morning (7:00–10:00)
- It is recommended to note the menstrual cycle phase for FSH, LH, and estradiol tests
Preparation:
- Blood should be taken on an empty stomach (no food for 8–12 hours before the test)
- Avoid intense physical activity the day before
- Reduce stress and get adequate rest
- Inform the doctor about any medications (especially hormones, contraceptives, glucocorticoids)
- Women should record the day of their cycle when taking FSH, LH, and estradiol
